Backward Classes Association President KP Kurmvanshi said that three daily wage earners were hired on letter number 7106 dated 26.09.003 in the Public Works Department of Sidhi district. In which daily wage earners Manmohan Singh, Shri Ram Bhushan Mishra, and Batasia Devi were hired. One day suddenly, after calling Batasia Devi illegal recruitment, after 13 years, the woman was fired from her job without any reason stating that she was ineligible, while two other daily wage earners were still working as permanent workers.

During the departmental proceedings, Mr. Kurmvanshi informed that state ministers/MLA Kamleshwar Patel, MLA Sidhi, Ramkhelawan Patel, Minister of State, Suresh Dhakad, while issuing the order, write a letter. A departmental inquiry committee was also constituted, but even after the committee was called several times, Executive Engineer DK Singh did not attend nor did he answer any call.

Now the executive engineer was caught taking bribes in the proceedings of Lokayukta

In another case, DK Singh, the Executive Engineer in the Public Works Department, had demanded about two lakh rupees at the rate of 2 percent from the contractor in exchange for passing a bill of 20 lakhs for the construction of roads, culverts, etc. The complaint was made to Lokayukta SP Gopal Dhakad.

After getting the matter verified, SP Dhakad sent a 12-member team of Lokayukta under the leadership of Inspector Zia-ul Haq. As soon as Executive Engineer DK Singh took a bribe of Rs 50,000, the Lokayukta team caught him red-handed. Let us tell you that DK Singh has served as Executive Engineer in many districts including Sidhi, and Singrauli. According to the information received, Executive Engineer Singh has been suspended.

Now Batasia awaits justice

Batasia Devi, the woman who was taken out as illegal recruitment, came in place of Singh. Justice is expected from the new executive engineer. Batasia told that after the death of her husband, she was the only earner in the family. She was completely dependent on this job.
